  • Supervise 25-30 operatives across 2-3 chicken-processing lines to meet daily targets and maintain operational continuity
  • Prepare and maintain hourly production KPI records including output, yield, line speed, downtime, and material use
  • Calculate prime product yield comparing finished weight against raw input, tracking residuals separately
  • Monitor throughput targets with machine output around 1-1.1 tonnes per hour depending on product
  • Identify and troubleshoot machine and production issues, taking corrective action to minimise downtime
  • Coordinate staff allocation, shift and absence cover, onboarding, and training to support workflow
  • Support food safety, hygiene, quality, and traceability, assisting with order preparation and dispatch
  • Supervise approximately 25-30 production operatives and coordinate workflow across 2-3 chicken-processing production lines to support daily targets and operational continuity.
  • Independently prepare and maintain hourly production KPI records, including target versus actual output, prime yield, residual yield, line speed, downtime, material use and production issues.
  • Calculate prime product yield by comparing acceptable finished main-product weight against raw fillet input weight, while recording residual material separately in line with site reporting requirements.
  • Monitor product-specific throughput targets, including machine output of approximately 1-1.1 tonnes per hour, depending on the product being processed.
  • Review production figures to identify output gaps, changes in yield, material losses and production interruptions.
  • Monitor automated water-jet cutting programmes and nugget production against a target weight of approximately 18 g per piece, recognising that cutting variation can be affected by fillet size, density and condition.
  • Monitor fillet-to-nugget production, where the observed prime yield is typically around 92-97% in the relevant production examples. Understand that other cutting formats, such as producing 90-110 g portions from 300 g fillets, have a different yield profile depending on product requirements.
  • Check product specifications and separate pieces that fall outside the required standard, supporting quality control and correct material handling.
  • Coordinate the packing of suitable residual chicken chunks for other customer orders, tracking these separately from main-product yield to support material utilisation and minimise avoidable waste.
  • Independently identify, investigate and troubleshoot machine and production problems where possible, checking likely causes and taking practical corrective action to restore operation and minimise downtime.
  • During significant machine breakdowns, temporarily redeploy available staff to other production lines and arrange suitable breaks when staffing levels allow.
  • Work alongside maintenance engineers when specialist repairs are required, helping with the repair process and learning from fault-finding activities.
  • Coordinate staff allocation, line tasks, shift and absence cover, and onboarding or training to support efficient workflow.
  • Support food safety, hygiene, quality and traceability requirements, along with customer-order preparation, dispatch and loading when required.
  • Manually prepare daily production records and provide completed KPI information for entry into Excel by the Data Analyst. Use Excel at a basic level for production data entry.
